Health Pack Map Control Routes Guide
Ranked fights are won on sustain as much as aim. These health pack routes and denial timings keep your team alive while starving enemies on key maps.
Why health pack control wins ranked fights
Most ranked losses on control are sustain losses — your team wins first fight, loses second because supports are dead and packs are enemy-controlled. Map control means owning the packs that matter, not every pack on the map.
Controversial take: pack routes matter more than hero diff in Gold through Diamond when both teams have similar ult economy. Denial converts even trades into snowballs.
Route archetypes by map type
Control maps: triangle routes connecting point, mega pack, and flank path — hold the triangle during your fight window. Hybrid attack: secure packs before first push so defenders cannot out-sustain your opening.
Escort defense: control packs near final checkpoint — attackers burn cooldowns chasing packs you deny. Push maps: rotate through side packs while main group holds space.
Map names rotate with Overwatch seasons — keep geometry and pack locations, not outdated callouts from old videos.
Timing targets for pack denial
0–10s: identify nearest contested pack. 10–30s: win or neutralize first fight near pack. 30–60s: hold denial position through support respawn. 60s+: only chase distant packs if radar or ESP confirms no flank.
Slot priority for routes: safe approach, cover for healing, escape if fight turns. Never stand on a pack in the open — you become the target.

Using ESP for pack and player awareness
Health pack ESP markers show contested routes before you commit — toggle on during learning, reduce once routes are muscle memory from Overwatch ESP.
Player ESP tells you when denial is safe versus when a flanker is waiting on your rotate path. Radar confirms third-party angles on popular pack locations.

Convert map control into SR
Run one map for eight games tracking pack control at 30s, 60s, and 90s fight marks. Compare win rate when you owned the triangle versus when you did not.
